Day 1: Medellín Exploration
Kick off your adventure with a sightseeing tour of Medellín, immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant culture and iconic landmarks, including Botero’s famous statues, the colorful streets of Comuna 13, the innovative cable car system, and a local fruit market where you’ll sample exotic flavors. Spend a comfortable night at a hotel in Laureles, a lively neighborhood brimming with local charm.
Day 2: Jardín – A trip to Paradise, Coffee Farm Visit
Head to the coffee region! After a 3-hour drive, we arrive in Jardín, a village in the heart of Antioquia’s coffee zone. Our hotel is nestled among coffee fields and bamboo forests, surrounded by nature, just 5 minutes from the village center. In the afternoon, we visit a family-run coffee farm, where we’ll learn the ins and outs of coffee production. In the evening, we’ll enjoy dinner and drinks at the village’s main square, observing how the locals live and unwind.
Day 3: Feeding himmingbirds
In the morning, we’ll hop into a classic vintage Jeep and ascend to 2,300 meters (7,500 feet) in the mountains, arriving at an orchid nature reserve where we’ll feed hummingbirds. After a short hike along a forest trail, we’ll descend to a waterfall and marvel at orchids thriving in their natural habitat within the cloud forest. Lunch awaits us back in the village, followed by an afternoon horseback ride to explore the La Escalera waterfall and the stunning Café Jardín viewpoint.
Day 4: Guatapé Adventure
Rise early for a scenic 5-hour journey to Guatapé, where you’ll climb the iconic Piedra del Peñol for stunning panoramic views. Next, enjoy a private boat tour across the lake, stopping at Pablo Escobar’s former estate, Finca La Manuela. Wrap up the afternoon wandering the vibrant, colorful streets of Guatapé village. Afterward, we’ll drive through breathtaking scenery into the valley to San Rafael, where you’ll unwind at a charming, family-run eco-hotel.
Day 5: San Rafael & Chocolate Making
Start your morning at the Rendón family cocoa farm with a unique chocolate-making tour. Learn about the ancient cocoa plant, craft your own chocolate, and enjoy a short forest hike to a natural pool, followed by a relaxing chocolate bath. In the afternoon, trek through lush jungles to uncover hidden waterfalls. At day’s end, we’ll return to Medellín—either to MDE International Airport or the city center—based on your next plans.
